The Business Investor Program is designed to attract competent foreign business investors to come to Canada and start acquiring a profitable business. The program offers a myriad of opportunities to foreign business investors, such as equitable tax rates, better infrastructure and a reliable logistics system, among others.
On top of starting their own business venture, foreign business investors are also given the privilege of acquiring permanent residency in Canada, provided that they have met all the qualifications under the Business Investor Program. These qualifications are the following:
- Has a net worth as required by the participating province;
- The net worth must have been acquired legally and a fraction of it must have been invested in the local economy;
- Show that you possess business experience;
- Your investment will be partitioned by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada among participating territories and provinces; and
- Once your application is approved by the CIC, you are required to make your investment before a permanent resident visa is issued.
